Kappa becomes the new technical sponsor of the French Alpine Ski Team.

Kappa becomes the official technical supplier of the French Alpine Ski Team from the 2026–2027 season. Discover this new partnership, the racing suits developed in collaboration with the Pininfarina wind tunnel, the athletes involved and the Italian brand’s ambitions in elite skiing.

The 2026–2027 season marks an important change for the French Alpine Ski Team. The French Ski Federation has chosen Kappa as the new official technical clothing partner for its national alpine skiing, ski cross and snowboard teams.

Announced in spring 2026, the multi-year agreement provides for the Italian brand to supply athletes, coaches and staff members with technical clothing, as well as speed suits and racing suits.

For ski and competition equipment enthusiasts, this change will be particularly noticeable from the first races of the winter.

A new chapter for the French team

Kappa is no stranger to French skiing.

The brand was already working with the French Ski Federation, notably supplying the French snowboard cross team since 2022. It is now taking another step by becoming the official partner of the French alpine skiing, ski cross and snowboard teams.

From the 2026–2027 season onwards, French skiers will wear technical equipment developed by Kappa during training sessions, travel and international competitions.

The change covers both clothing designed to protect athletes from the cold and equipment where aerodynamics plays an essential role.

And in speed disciplines, even the smallest details can make a difference.

Racing suits developed for performance

The partnership between Kappa and the French Ski Federation goes beyond a branding exercise.

The brand is working on the development of its racing suits with the Pininfarina wind tunnel in Italy. The aim is to study and improve the aerodynamic performance of the suits worn by athletes.

At the highest level, the racing suit is an integral part of competition equipment.

In downhill and super-G, where skiers can reach very high speeds, air resistance becomes an important factor. The garment's cut, fit and textile properties must therefore comply with International Ski Federation regulations while seeking the best possible balance between safety, comfort and performance.

At the time of the announcement, FFS president Fabien Saguez also highlighted that racing suits had become an important performance factor in elite skiing.

Top French skiers involved in the launch

To introduce this new collaboration, Kappa launched a campaign featuring several athletes from the French national teams.

The skiers involved include Clément Noël, Romane Miradoli, Nils Allègre, Marion Chevrier, Léo Anguenot, Camille Cerutti, Paco Rassat, Flavio Vitale, Léa Casta, Alban Elezi-Cannaferina and Youri Duplessis.

Part of the campaign was filmed in Tignes, a resort closely associated with French elite skiing.

These athletes are part of the 2026–2027 French team, which includes both technical and speed discipline groups.

A strategically important partnership for Kappa

For Kappa, this contract goes far beyond simply supplying clothing.

The brand aims to strengthen its presence in winter sports and further develop its skiing business in the French market.

It already has considerable experience in this field, notably through its long-standing partnership with the Italian Winter Sports Federation and various international collaborations.

Adding the French Alpine Ski Team to its portfolio therefore represents an important showcase for the brand.

The timing is also favourable: the partnership is intended to support the French teams through upcoming major international events, including the 2030 Winter Olympic Games in the French Alps.

A collection also aimed at the general public

The partnership will not be limited to athletes.

Kappa also plans to offer a clothing range inspired by its collaboration with the French Ski Federation.

The new 2026–2027 collection is expected to be available from October through partner stores, the brand's website and various authorised retailers.

This allows Kappa to extend the French team's visual identity beyond competitions.

As in other sports, national team outfits are increasingly becoming lifestyle products that appeal to both participants and supporters.

An exciting development for ski racing enthusiasts

For alpine skiing fans, the first events of the 2026–2027 season will therefore be particularly interesting.

Alongside the sporting performances, they will offer the opportunity to see the new suits worn by French athletes in real racing conditions.

The colours, cuts and technical choices will undoubtedly attract attention, particularly in speed disciplines, where technical clothing is an integral part of performance optimisation.

This development is also particularly interesting for Ski Flake.

The racing suit market evolves regularly in response to major brands, FIS regulations and athletes' increasingly demanding requirements.

Kappa's arrival as a partner of the French team once again demonstrates that a ski racing suit is no longer just a garment: it is now a genuine piece of competition equipment.

A new French identity on the slopes

The partnership between Kappa and the French Ski Federation opens a new chapter for the French team.

From the 2026–2027 winter season, France's top skiers will compete in World Cup events wearing their new supplier's colours.

Beyond the visual change, Kappa will need to demonstrate its ability to develop clothing that meets the particularly demanding requirements of international skiing.

The first races will quickly reveal the new outfits in action.

For equipment and competition enthusiasts, the French team's racing suits will certainly be among the most closely watched pieces of equipment this new season.
